Our Owner

Tomasi Havea is an experienced concrete professional who embarked on his journey in the trade in 2002. As an apprentice, he honed his skills in forming, pouring, and finishing concrete, accumulating a rich knowledge base over a decade of hands-on experience. His hard work and expertise did not go unnoticed and he was hand-picked by the owner of the top concrete polishing company in the Bay Area to lead their team of concrete polishers. For a decade, Tomasi served as the company’s shining star, impressing clients with his attention to detail and perfect execution. When his mentor retired and relocated out of state, Tomasi decided to carry the legacy forward and founded Gem, a premier concrete polishing company that has since made a name for itself in the industry. Tomasi is a stickler for perfection and remains committed to collaborating with clients to ensure their unique visions for their floors are fully realized.

Our Operations Manager

Amy Havea, co-owner and operations manager, is a seasoned customer service expert and project manager with 25 years of experience under her belt in multiple industries. From your first inquiry to the completion of your project, her professionalism and expertise will be evident. Having worked in retail, sales, business management, and law enforcement, she brings a diverse skill set to the team. Her no-nonsense approach to client education and project management has earned her the respect of both clients and contractors. Her expertise in the concrete and construction industry is extensive, and she places a high priority on pursuing ongoing education to remain well-versed in the most current, effective approaches. Put your toughest and most demanding project in Amy’s capable hands, and rest easy knowing she can handle anything that comes her way.

Our Office Manager

Liane brings 28 years of admin experience to our team. In addition to her extensive experience, Liane is highly organized and efficient. From managing schedules and completing paperwork to keeping the polishing supplies stocked, Liane is always on top of things. Her exceptional communication skills allow her to effectively handle any queries or issues that arise, making sure everyone is highly satisfied with the service provided. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and go above and beyond to ensure the success of the team.

Our Story

Gem is a local, family-owned and operated business that caters to clients across the Bay Area and beyond. Its owners, Amy and Tomasi Havea, are both immigrants (Amy from South Africa and Tomasi from Tonga) who believe in the American dream of entrepreneurship. By choosing to work with us, you are not only availing of our top-notch services but also contributing to the success of our little family and the realization of our dreams. We take pride in maintaining a small-scale operation where Tomasi personally supervises every project to ensure quality and accountability. Despite our size, we are a mighty team, equipped to handle projects of any size – from 150,000 square feet warehouses to 400 square feet garages, we do it all.
